Skywalk Observatory. This is the best view of the city, hands down. Although you’ll need to pay to get up to the skywalk, it’s well worth it on a clear day. Be ready for some potentially long lines filled with out-of-towners, but as a new Bostonian local you should definitely put this on your bucket list.
Harriet Tubman House. Boston is known for it’s rich history; it’s the city that started a revolution and played an integral during the civil war era. The South End is home to Harriet Tubman, a central figure in the abolition movement during the American Civil War. Her home is located at 566 Columbus Ave and it’s open for tours.
Boston Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy a unique experience that’s unlike any other in the city. Boston’s Symphony Orchestra is one of the best in the country and you won’t be disappointed. This is a great date night idea as well as a unique plan for out-of-town friends and family members. Located at 301 Massachusetts Ave, tickets are available online.
Museum of Fine Arts. Another “must see” on your Boston bucket list before you get too comfortable living here is the Museum of Fine Arts. Although not technically in the South End of Boston, it’s less than a mile from the area, which means you can head into the South End and go to The Beehive before heading over.
Copley Place. Although technically located outside of the South End, Copley Place mall is home to Boston’s high end shops. This mall is filled with designer clothing stores and frequently hosts events such as Comic Con conventions and more. There’s nothing better than strolling through the mall on a rainy day!
