Household Appliance Moving
Home appliances shouldn’t be underestimated on moving day. Items such as refrigerators and washer/dryer units need to be given extra time and consideration during the packing process, in-transit, and setup process to preserve their functionality. Mastodon Moving’s household appliance moving services ensure that these items are properly dismantled, packed and reassembled at your new home.
What We Move
If it’s in your home and it can be detached from a wall, ceiling or floor, then it can be moved – no matter how big the appliance is. Our professionals have always found a solution to moving large and bulky home appliances; whether that means grabbing a few extra crew members or using a crane and hoisting it out a window (yes, it’s been done!).
Refrigerators & Freezers
Our home moving company is well versed when it comes to moving refrigerators and freezers. If you were planning on contacting the brand company to have them send a service rep out to dismantle and prep your appliance for moving day, there’s no need! Mastodon Moving LLC can take care of all of the dismantling logistics when we arrive. Our crew will turn off the ice maker (when applicable), disconnect the unit from the water line, unplug it from the electrical socket, and carefully dismantle the interior shelves and pack them away safely. The unit will then be properly padded and safely transported to our moving truck.
Washers & Dryers
A bulky washer and dryer is no match for Mastodon Moving’s professional crew; we guarantee we’ll have these appliances unplugged and loaded into our truck in no time. For the washer, our moving specialist will first turn off the water hook-up, then unhook the hoses and unplug the washer from the electrical outlet. We recommend not doing laundry a day or two before moving day in order to avoid excess water in the hose. If you have a front-load washer, ask us about transit bolts to avoid damage to the drum in-transit. For the dryer, the vent needs to be detached from the wall and the hose removed. Electric dryers need to be unplugged from the wall outlet, while gas dryers need to have the gas turned off and the hose removed.
Stoves & Ovens
Whether you have a gas, electric, or convection oven, Mastodon Moving LLC is here to move it from your old home to your new one. It’s important to make sure a professional moving company handles the dismantling of stoves because tampering with gas lines without prior experience can end up causing damage to the pipes. Always be sure to let us know if you need a gas or electric stove removed and reassembled at your new destination because the dismantle and setup process requires specific tools and hardware.
